So i was going shopping the other day at one of my favorite stores-
Ikea. Not only does it offer a plethora of green items like CFL bulbs, efficient lighting, and items made from recycled or renewable sources but it also truly accepts the green challenge of operating business is a greener way.
They have offered their large and super durable bags for purchase for
a long time now and promote their customers to use them by charging for
plastic bags. I am a big fan of these bags and they normally come with me when i go grocery shopping.
Ikea's ideas include better ways to promote public transportation to and from their stores, and if you have ever gone there on an even slightly busy day, you'll see the parking lot is huge and is normally very full and chaotic. They also promote the use of hybrid vehicles in their own fleet for deliveries, etc. but also for their customers. I was happy to see 2 spots reserved only for hybrid vehicles right near the front, just beyond the handicap spots. As I took advantage of the close parking, i just had to say "I love my Prius" yet again...
